Here is an article I read from Newsweek magazine that I found very interesting, titled:
‘When Your Child Is Away’.
It stated that:
‘Does the thought of dropping your child off at camp send you into fits of separation anxiety?
If so, you’re not alone. The American Camp Association (www.acacamps.org) says it’s seen an
increase in “kidsickness” from parents, whose intense relationship with their children makes it
harder to let go.’
Peg Smith, CEO of the ACA gave some tips on making those weeks alone easier for parents.
She said that ‘Camp is a time for kids to take a break from their parents, too. They won’t
forget you. If you don’t hear from your children, view it as a positive sign: they are simply busy
and having fun.’
Among my friends who send their kids to Summer Camp, they can identify and relate to this issue.
Great that nowadays, there are loads of website forums and bloggers such as:
(http://tweenparenting.about.com), (www.CafeMom.com), (www.SheKnows.com)
where moms can share their experiences and feelings with others.
When I started the idea of creating ‘Summer Camp Care-Package’ for Cozy Petal
(www.CozyPetal.com/summer_camp_care_package_gifts.aspx). I knew that these Gift Baskets
will bring some joy to both the senders and the girls who received them.
Just think about this: We all can use some TLC and a little pampering!
When your girls receive a Gift Basket at Camp that wraps with a big bow with all the Spa & Sparkle goodies -
that's just another way to show that you love them, you care while they are away from home...

According to the Wall Street Journal (http://online.wsj.com/public/us) last month, there is an increasing
demand of young girls going for spa-treatments with their moms. Some hotels have already designed special
Day Spa Packages gear to the Tweens – places such as Scoops Kid Spa at the Great Wolf Lodge
(www.greatwolf.com), Four Seasons Hotel, Los Angeles (www.fourseasons.com/losangeles), and
Lowes Santa Monica Beach Hotel, Los Angeles (www.loewshotels.com).
So, don’t’ be surprise that when your girls ask to come along with you on your next Spa Day
appointment…it can be another great way to bond with them…Enjoy!
Most people I know love chocolates…ok, Everyone LOVES chocolates!!
We associate chocolate with pleasure, so just the smell will stimulate a body’s “feel happy” chemicals and a sense of well-being. Perhaps that is why a growing number of products infused with chocolate scent: candles, soaps, body lotion, or even fragrance.
So, we often have customers asking for the ‘Sonoma Chocolate Scented Pillows’ for a little
‘Chocolate Therapy’ …but without the calories!
Cozy Petal offers: 'Chocolate Scented Neck Pillow, and Broach Pillow'
One of my favorite chocolate shops is Jacques Torres (www.mrchocolate.com) in Brooklyn – DUMBO (‘Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass’). You can check out what they are making through the kitchen window. Summer time is best to enjoy these yummy goodies sitting outside, watching people going by…For the colder days, sipping a mug of their rich and creamy hot chocolate inside the shop is a great treat!
If you also enjoy organic chocolates like me, try Green & Black (www.greenandblackdirect.com). Indulge yourself with their wonderful gift sets for special occasions or just enjoy a single bar today.

Dagoda (www.dagobachocolate.com) is another organic brand I love. Their unique blends of ingredients such as ‘Lavender’, ‘Roseberry’, or ‘Mon Cherri’ are such a delightful snack.

Well, couple of weeks ago, I decided to take a short break and recharged my creative fuel by doing a museum hop in Boston….couldn’t wait to see some non-fashion artwork.
I met with Yee, who is one of my closest friends, and checked out the ‘Antonio Lopez Garcia’ exhibit at Museum of Fine Art (www.mfa.com). His compelling work truly illustrates him as a great Contemporary Realist. We enjoyed his show so much and stayed there for hours staring at his master pieces…especially Yee, who is a Fine artist studied with Ron Sherr. She just returned from her 2 month-long trip from Spain…painting everything from her journey.
We had a casual lunch at Newbury Street and found some of the boutiques and galleries quite fun. Though it was a rainy afternoon, we managed to have a little shopping spree. I particularly get inspired by Home Décor and eco-friendly products. I got some great pattern idea for the Organic collection for Cozy Petal.
Another great treat was a short stop at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum (www.gardnermuseum.org). After talking to one of the guards and learned that the building was designed by Isabella herself, who acquired many wonderful art objects from various cultures that fill its galleries and decided how they should be displayed. Today, the Gardner Museum remains essentially as its creator left it.

We really enjoyed the video-exhibition of ‘Travel Scrapbooks’ created by the artist, Luisa Rabbia (www.luisarabbia.com) she combined her drawings with Gardner’s travel journal along with modern digital images. The outcome is this unique piece of art film.
At night, we sipped wine and listened to some jazz at the wharf by the Boston Harbor Hotel (www.bhh.com) by warm summer breeze and friendly locals.
The trip was short and sweet but most importantly, I managed to catch up with an old friend!
